For many years I avoided Margret River Region because I knew it was at least three hours drive south of Perth. We decided to offer multi-day pre-wedding shoots in 2017. This way we could divide the long drive over two days giving us the freedom to travel without as many time constraints. Wan Qing and Huai Ce were the first couple to take us up on this offer and we were able to really explore what the region had to offer. I always thought “there’s nothing in Margaret River that we can’t duplicate closer to Perth”. Now after visiting multiple times, I must admit I was very wrong.
Sometimes photos cannot do justice to the scenery. You have to experience Margaret River for yourself.
At this point I must shout-out to Alex and Bec from Fairlawn Estate for hosting us and allowing us to photograph at their homestead. It’s one of the newest wedding venues in the southwest, only a few minutes drive from Busselton. It is both beautiful and rich in history. If you want to have a romantic retreat away with your partner, family or friends you can book rooms to relax or make it a base to explore the rest of the food and wine region.
